Noosa Mayor Bob Abbot says: Leave Sunshine Coast alone
Intentionally taken out of context

Noosa visitors probably will leave the Sunshine Coast alone if our Council doesn't see the necessity to improve our "rubbish reputation".

Saturday 26.12.2009, the "Editor" decided to enjoy a short stroll through Noosa Heads before the town turns too busy.

What a moment as he arrived at the heart of this great location. A whole army could park their vehicles without paying any tickets which is absolutely rare for Noosa. Only a hand full of visitors walked around at 6 pm. Most restaurants had been closed. Has Noosa turned into a ghost town? The car park next to the "Life Savers" was nearly empty. I asked myself, is this the reaction of Bob´s warning "Leave the Sunshine Coast alone". Sorry Bob, I have taken your words out of context.

I decided to walk along the new eye catching broad walk. After some steps something much more eye catching got my attention.
Bob, look at the attached photo. This saves me to find the right words. End of the day and still the "same rubbish".
Early next day it was still the same. Passing people have been very disgusted about the lack of serve. Curious as I am, I drove through Noosa Woods. The second photo shows the situation there. Opposite the road the same situation. Some minutes later, a council worker turned up. His job was to clean up the litter dropped by people along the walk ways. I asked him if the present situation is unusual? No, this is the typical situation mainly on Sundays and Holidays. Some of the Cleanaway drivers don´t turn up. If he has time, his does the cleanup job. I asked him if there are only 2 forgotten bins in Noosa Woods? No, in his cleaning area is another spot (closer to the beach) where the situation is much worse. He told me that our Council asked the cleaner to send an email to the Council and report similar circumstances. Unfortunately there is no service improvement, he said.
Compared to the rubbish situation in Napoli I shouldn't complain.
